Internet Service Provider (ISP) Citranet has officially partnered with Linknet to expand its network infrastructure, specifically targeting the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and Banyumas

YOGYAKARTA, JUNE 2025 – Internet Service Provider (ISP) Citranet has officially partnered with Linknet to expand its network infrastructure, specifically targeting the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and Banyumas. Through this collaboration, approximately 20,000 homepasses will be supported and managed.

Citranet’s Sales Manager, Dyah Saptarini, stated that while Citranet’s services are generally available across all regencies and cities in DIY, the infrastructure remains limited. Therefore, a strategic partnership is essential to broaden its network coverage.

“We are collaborating under an open-access scheme, focusing on expanding our network. Our core internet service is fiber optic-based, but our infrastructure such as poles and cables is not yet fully available across DIY and Central Java,” she explained on Tuesday (June 17, 2025).

Dyah added that Citranet already has its own infrastructure in four regencies and one city in DIY, as well as in Solo, Purwokerto, and Tegal.

She highlighted the significant and growing market potential in DIY, with estimated growth reaching up to 10 percent annually. DIY’s reputation as an educational hub makes it a unique market 30 percent of Citranet’s customers are university students living in boarding houses. The household segment is equally promising, with 80 percent of Citranet’s subscribers being residential internet users, supported by the continuous development of new housing in the region.

“Our target market is families, which is why we build infrastructure that reaches into residential areas. Home internet services tend to be more sustainable for family use,” she said.

Meanwhile, Linknet’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ronald Chandra Lesmana, explained that since October 2024, Linknet has officially transformed into a full network infrastructure provider. In this new business model, Linknet focuses on building and managing fiber optic networks, while ISPs can lease the infrastructure.

“We truly appreciate the trust given by Citranet, one of Linknet’s most valued ISP partners. This trust has laid the foundation for a formal collaboration between Linknet and Citranet to expand internet services in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Banyumas. This partnership is strongly aligned with our company’s mission: ‘We LINK the nation for better lives,’” he said.

With over 20 years of experience, Ronald affirmed that Linknet’s infrastructure is highly reliable. The company has built a robust ecosystem that includes Network Operations Centers (NOC), technical services, customer installations (IKR), network handling, commercial teams, and project management.

“For more than two decades, Linknet has consistently proven its ability to provide reliable network services. Since 1999, we’ve built and managed our own networks and currently have over 4.3 million homepasses. We understand the on-the-ground challenges and requirements. With our roll-out experience and strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLA), we are committed to maintaining service quality and ensuring customer satisfaction,” he concluded.
